BitTorrent client for Mac OS 8 - 9.2.2

Just finished making the first public release of MacTorrent, a BitTorrent client for PowerPC Macs running Mac OS 8 - 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.3 and newer.

If you have the time, please download it and try it out.
Any ideas, suggestions and help is greatly appreciated!

You can find ready built applications as well as sources on MacTorrent's SourceForge page here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mactorrent/

Hope you enjoy it and merry christmas!

Might be Wink. It's very basic right now, but will be adding more and more features as time goes by.
The biggest thing to implement right now is DHT and Magnet links. Hopefully it wont take that long to implement it.

New version out! 0.2.1

Get it here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/mactorrent/

Biggest thing is that the flickering of the peer list is gone.
Other than this we got some new icons (specifically made for MacTorrent) and general speed improvements.

Download and enjoy! And as usual; any feedback is greatly appriciated! Smile

Knez, this build is definitely faster & uses a lot less system resources Laughing out loud The new icons are pretty awesome too Laughing out loud I would only suggest one thing: maybe a pause button?

Adding it to my to do list. Need to think about how to implement it first, so I can prioritize everything that needs to be done Wink

I just spotted this while googling another topic: http://ppcluddite.blogspot.se/2016/12/bittorrent-for-mac-os-9.html

Stuff like this keeps me going. It's fun to read that you guys like what I'm doing. Thanks for all the kind words and feedback! Have gotten quite a few emails as well and it's heart warming to say the least Smile

Seriously so fantastic to see some new code coming into the classic pipeline!

One question, why Sourceforge? Would you consider migrating your repo to GitHub? I'd contribute to the codebase if it was on GitHub

I choose SoureForge since it's been around like forever (and probably will be around for a bit longer still). This has pretty much been a one man show so I haven't really had the need to use GitHub either.

I could move the sources on GitHub if you want to contribute, but would prefer to have the binaries at SourceForge since it sort of still works with Classilla. Do you have any experience with DHT and magnet links? It's the next big thing needing sorting out.

New version out! 0.2.2
Get it at the usual place: http://mactorrent.sourceforge.net

New in this release:

*Fixed a bug which added "ghost lines" in the file list
*Fixed a bug where the "Remove" button would crash the client
*Fixed a bug that disabled the "Inject Peer" function
*Better peer list populating code
*Added a log function
*Added a "bitfield" to see avaliable and downloaded torrent pieces
*Updated and refined GUI elements

There will be updates, but I'm working on some big ones so it can take a while.
If you found some bugs or small stuff you think needs fixing or changing, please post about it so I can fix it Smile
