Apple Macintosh 12" RGB Display and games

I found someone who sells the subject's monitor. I checked the technical characteristics and i saw that it has fixed resolution 512x384. So, is there a limited of games that can run with this monitor? I have an LC 475 and also a Macintosh Color Display with fixed resolution 640x480 but i use this monitor on my Performa 6116 computer which fits great and everything look amazing. I use my LC475 especially for 68k adventure games like Fate of Atlantis, Gabriel Knight, Dark Seed etc.

Yes! We got one of those with our Mac LC II. They were not high-quality monitors let me say that. They were intended for the entry and home market. But I loved how they would perfectly fit on top of the LC II. I wonder how they aged with respect to color crispness etc.

There were apps that would require at least 640x480. They won't start and throw an error. I think I also had a game that would run, but I'd get sort of a cropped screen where some details on the right were out of my view.

You might want to check the desired adventure games here for 13" monitor required compatibility info before buying it. Other than that, if it is still fine and doesn't cost a fortune, why not? It probably as authentic retro Mac as it can get Smile

I haven't done any move until now. The monitor is still for sale but i am expecting to see if the the seller reduces the price. I would like to ask if the same goes also for the macintosh color classic computer regarding the resolution.

Yep, the Color Classic has the same native resolution. Smile
