16 GB of goodies

I stumbled across an very active torrent for 16 GB of old Mac software. I did a few spot checks of some of the items in the download and they seem to be OK (i.e. resource forks intact). So I downloaded the lot for myself. If anyone wants it, the torrent file is

I think there will be a number of items in there that could be uploaded here on MG.

I have just noticed in one case that a disc image from this set has OS X artifacts on it when it should not. So I suggest that you check any image for hidden OS X files and delete them if appropriate (DiskTop will do it, for example).

looks like a huge mac software repository server backup... excellent!!! if there is any good sammaritan with 16 gb free out there... please...

I notice that there are a number of naked .img image files in this 16 GB collection. The few that I have checked are corrupted because they were not protected with a wrapper such as .sit or .bin. The same will apply to raw application files, although .sea files should still be unpacked by dragging onto StuffIt Expander. The good news is that most files in the collection should be OK as they either in a sit, bin or hqx archive, or they are an image such as .cdr or .toast

Wow, amazing archive. Don't really have the HD space for that right now, but maybe when I get some storage upgrade or free up some space....

Went ahead and DL'd this, and scanned with Virex, everything looks good to go with the exception of some corrupted files and Mac OS X hidden files (mentioned above).

Seeding now

Phew, I got it, and seeded for a few days. It is by no means a complete collection, but in combination with other collections, is a good gap-filler
