@MTT I see, that's good to know, although a pity that's the result. Nonetheless, thanks for testing things out.

With X11, you can boot a Mac-on-Mac virtual machine on Panther [...], and the Mac-on-Mac author mentioned that it "should also work" on Jaguar. But X11 on Jaguar is a must if so.

So far, the MoM VM is looking like a Panther client app, only. In which case, the above DL + Panther is what you need if you hope to get anywhere with MoM.

On Jaguar, MoM is not looking promising. MoM crashes on Jag's X11 before it even gets to the GUI boot-loader.
- I tested with both the version 0.2 and alpha binaries that I could find and the results were the same.

I have a copy of Apple's final official X11 preview release for Mac OS X 10.2.x.
I'll be making a page for it shortly.

X11 for 10.2.x didn't go gold, as they were pushing Panther out the door by the time of the final X11 betas. And X11 got distributed with Panther releases onwards. That said, I found the X11 preview to be stable enough for every day use in Jaguar.

[Edit] It's here, now.

@Jatoba I can try to compile X11 for Mac OS X 10.2, I’ve read that’s what was done before the official Apple betas.

@Jatoba, Maybe OroborOSX would work on Jaguar. But its not an official Apple X11 for MacOSX.

Has anyone found any of the earlier releases? Supposedly there is one that is 10.2 Jaguar compatible, which would be very nice to have for Jaguar machines. With X11, you can boot a Mac-on-Mac virtual machine on Panther (not Server Panther, nor any Tiger nor any Leopard, at least from my testing), and the Mac-on-Mac author mentioned that it "should also work" on Jaguar. But X11 on Jaguar is a must if so.
