An extremely rare find today, this is one of the earliest Macintosh versions of WordPerfect. It features spell check selection, page, document, word count, lookup, change dictionary, thesaurus, document ruler, macros, merge, footnote, endnote, insert date, define table of contents, index, show document position, columns (2-24), page layout, outline, line kerning, search, replace, goto, typeover, case convert, show/hide codes, insert literal, select sentence, paragraph, page, column, all, file management, save copy as, timed backup, transfer, print options, on-line help, and more.

This version was released on 3 x 800K floppies (WordPerfect, Utilities and Thesaurus)

You think so? I never liked it. It felt so DOS-ish. Version 2.x was way better in that. But then I’ve always been a WriteNow (and later AppleWorks) type of guy, so … Smile

I acknowledge though, Word Perfect was widespread on PCs back then. So one big advantage was that you could swap Mac and PC documents back and forth with relative ease. (try that with WriteNow documents :-/ )

This is by far superior to MS Word before 5.0, even at this 1.0 version.
