the Toast 9 page says 9 is the last v for Tiger, however macrumors "the tiger thread" is declaring Toast 10 to be a key app for Tiger. I don't know which...

I couldn't say, other than officially, Toast 9 was the final version to run on a Tiger OS.

But if anyone wants to add 880 MB of Toast 10 bloat to a Tiger install to test... Wink

ah, I'll look. 'round here, BluRay-anything didn't appear in stores til very late 2006. Probably means bluray is not a feature of Toast 7.0 but can be found in the v7.1 we got.

Implements Blu-Ray support to the Finder/Disk Utility of Tiger.

It was (I think) introduced with version 7 Titanium and you can find an earlier Universal (v1.1.3) "RoxioBluRaySupport.kext" in that app as well, but maybe it was better implemented in version 8. That is, it didn't rate a mention on the "New Features" Roxio web page.

(drops mic).

Toast8 won't install nor run when Altivec is disabled on the G4 - it quits with msg "Sorry, this software requires a G4 or better processor." Upon installing (and restarting), Tiger-BluRay support comes in the form of an Extension file "RoxioBluRaySupport.kext" in which BluRay IS useable in Tiger even when Altivec is disabled or the (other) Toast software is erased/unused. You can access this kext file without having to full install Toast8 or be G4 by going into the Toast 8 Titanium "Drag to the Applications" Folder, control/right clicking the Toast Titanium app, Show Package Contents, Contents/Resources/RoxioBluRaySupport.kext file. I found installing Toast 8 did slow down my computer, so I made a new mg page here dedicated to the "Roxio BluRay Support" which by itself does not slow my computer.

805 has RoxioBluRaySupport.kext ver 1.1.6 dated 12/9/2008.
803 is likely much older ver of BluRay support; 803 says it is kext ver 1.1.6 dated 11/15/2007 but the file is shorter and not the same as 805.
(registration code works for both 803&805 Toast releases.)
