A lot of what's archived at Max1zzz's is already archived here, but yes, we are aware of the situation and are looking at our options.
Of the Apple Dev discs, a couple that I've now looked at that include SSW 6.0.7 are "Dev CD Vol VI" (Jan 91) and "Dev CD Vol VII" (Apr 91).
The Jan 91 disc has System 6.0.7 install disks for French, Canadian French, and Swiss French releases as well as all other included language groups. They are in 1.4MB disk image format, same as the 2 DL's on this page.
The Apr 91 disc has the same as above except the Canadian French copies are in DD 800Kb format (4 x 800Kb disk images instead of 2 x 1.4MB images) and are suitable for installing to a Mac Plus or original SE & other early Macs with 800Kb disk drives only.

"Unfortunately the archives at Max's are not cataloged (...) and downloading from Max's is a painfully slow affair."
Hum. Since he considers to shut down his servers eventually, did you prepare a Plan B to keep access to that treasure chest? Something like to ask him for a hard drives donation to the Garden or at least trying to buy some of his hard drives?
Yes SSW 6.0.7 is a relative rarity, in any language. So its good to have a copy archived and it's not at all superfluous. Perhaps rarer because 6.0.8 was released six months after 6.0.7's release with updated print drivers only, with no other changes (other than version numbering) to accommodate compatibility with networked print servers and Macs running the new SSW 7.0 OS over the same networks sharing the same printers.
By "My preference (...) is to grab an original copy off one of the Apple Developers CD compilations" I didn't specifically mean the 1992 Dev releases for SSW 6 disks - 1992 is too modern for that OS. For earlier software releases I would look towards earlier releases of Dev disks (see Max1zzz's link in the 1992 page). Currently, the bulk of the Dev releases hosted at Max's have not been archived here.
Unfortunately the archives at Max's are not cataloged, so you would need to sample full CD's of those from around the time of a specific release to get a feel for the content... and downloading from Max's is a painfully slow affair.

"My preference (...) is to grab an original copy off one of the Apple Developers CD compilations"
I have downloaded the January and February 1992 issues of the Apple Developer CDs by curiosity. There is indeed many high quality international systems files on these discs and probably enough to complete some of the Garden collections. But in French language, there is nothing earlier than these ones: French 7.0.1, French Canadian 7.0.1, and French Swiss 7.0.
Well, that French v6.0.7 upload was finally not as superfluous as it may have seem at first sight. In fact, it was hard to find even for the first uploader ("thomas") from Le Grenier du Mac: «Quant-à la 6.0.7 en francais, elle n'est trouvable nulle part mais je l'ai retrouvée sur de vieilles disquettes :-D»

"We're not short of copies of SSW 6.x"
Maybe but localization of operating systems is as important in French as it could be in English. Particularly in Québec, a small francophone country lost in the middle of North-America.
Well, yep, of course, Mike.
Probably the software not really hard to find, finally.
My preference, if I need a safe and complete install set of System 7, or 6 and earlier (for any known language release), is to grab an original copy off one of the Apple Developers CD compilations or other similar Apple compilation releases, here and elsewhere.
We're not short of copies of SSW 6.x
Thanks. If you're looking for more complete versions (Switzerland, Canada & France) in SD or HD floppy disks, you can find them on this link page.
Be aware, however that some softwares on this site have been uploaded with viruses...
Please take note that this French language System 6.0.7 is different than the other one found in the "Mac System 6 Collection". This one is localized for France while the other one is localized for Switzerland.
