CompatibilityTested in SheepShaver and SoftWindows 95 v1.0, runs Windows 95 perfectly, but slower than Windows 3.11 configuration.

Nevermind

I successfully uploaded to version 5.0.9
I'm trying to upload to 5.0.9 but I'm getting a warning "Referencing to the file used in the field is not allowed." The file has name: "SW95OS9Beta.sit"
Can anyone help me?
I agree with InkBlot--for Flight Simulator 95, Softwindows95 is better than VirtualPC4 (at least in Win95). I'm not sure about this particular upload, but my handy copy of Softwindows95 is good, though slightly annoying in that it tries to phone home every time you run it.
I can verify Euryale's problem with the captachs.
Win 95 serial that works from my Original CD
12095-OEM-0004226-12233
Hey ADMINS. I´m really upset that the system asks me to input the stupid captchas
that don´t even work, EVERYTIME I make a comment, also
I have to use the audio verification
I still can't get the serial number to work. I couldn't find the serial number file.
Added the link of SoftWindows 95 CD. Tested in SheepShaver, perfectly, but slowly.
The only issue you may find with Virtual PC and Win95 / Win98 is speed. It'll be way too fast if you're trying to play a game or something. I tried with Dungeon Keeper, Win95 and Win98 on my G4. Not just hilariously fast, but unplayably so. Still Command & Conquer (a PC box set of the first 4 games) was very enjoyable.

How to make things difficult for yourself.
Honestly, with a G4 Mac Mini use Virtual PC, the later the better and emulate Win95 under that, or Win98, or Win2K at a push.
Been trying to load this software onto my G4 Mini (OSX 10.4.11/Classic) for awhile now. I have the original Insignia package w/cd's & manuals. The installer loads fine going to the part where it ejects the 'Install CD' and requests the 'WIN95DATA' cd. I Load that cd in and the installer continues fine until it requests the 'Install CD' again. At this point the 'WIN95DATA' cd does not eject from the drive and my attempts to manually eject it breaks the installer (by which I mean the installer freezes). I have to force quit the installer. I haven't been able to continue the install past this point.
I tried temporarily replacing the Apple CD/DVD driver in classic with a CD only driver (Apple CD Driver 5.4) but it doesn't seem to help. There's a driver on the 'Install CD' (Apple CD Driver 5.2), so maybe I'll try that. I've heard that CDROM support for this program under Tiger is questionable, and wonder if anyone here can help?
Thanks!

1. Try to use this serial (3200-0012-5172-5661 or 3200-5013-6610-1112). You need to make the Read-Only .img file of SoftWindows 98 to get work. If you do Custom Install, it will not prompt the alert.
2. You can try Virtual PC 3.0 or 4.0, but you need to upgrade from the prior version of Virtual PC. First you need to install version 2, then install version 3, and then, install version 4. Also, you've using the machine specific 9.1 installation. You should to use the generic CD to fix the problem. What type of machine do you run?
3. Actually, SoftWindows 95 has included the "Master Hard Disk" on the second disk on the retail SoftWindows 95 package. To fix the problem, run the safe mode and disable some unnecessary drivers.
1.well, i downloaded softwindows 98 off the hotline server and the installer says i need the softwindows install cd, which i dont have. tried to manually move the files over and softwindows 98 says it needs a serial so i went and found one then the program tells me softwindows is damaged and needs to be reinstalled from original disks. WTF???
2. tried a virtualpc 5.0 installer and it says i need system 9.1 or higher, which i cant get because 9.1 wont install. i get some message about "this version of mac os can't be installed on the cpu specific version that came with your newer computer" but my computer is NOT newer. its way older...i have the 2001 imac that should support 9.1. theres a 9.2 helper app but i cant find a 9.1 helper. so unless theres a virtualpc 5 that will work on plain OS 9, thats a no-go.
3. i dont have the cds that go with those serials. what i have is the windows 95 upgrade cd (that has a cd key with it) and when i use that (after installin win 3.1 first) windows hangs while on the load screen after setup is complete. can you help?
@SHiNShU
1. You need to try SoftWindows 98, available on the preterhuman.net Hotline/KDX server.
2. No SoftWindows XP are came out, Virtual PC 5.0 is the lifesaver.
3. The serials can be found on the serial text file on this archive. You need to open and run SoftWindows. Type the serial and you've done. No need to drag and drop.
important: if i try to do a win98 install, will it fail or just be EXTREMELY SLOW? also, do you think theres a softwindows xp out there that can run realtime on mac os 9?
oh, and is it some bug in the program that the serial seems to be pre-installed but the readme says it has to be typed in and then go through registration screens? is drag and drop supported in softwindows? do all windows applications work on softwindows?
I remember using this on my Beige G3 back in the day, running a copy of Diablo on it that I borrowed from a friend. Surprisingly, once things got loaded, it did an admirable job. Even though SoftWindows 95 was usually faster than Virtual PC at the time, I'm pretty sure later versions of Virtual PC surpassed SoftWindows 95 in both speed and stability.
