Emulation
Guides on emulating older applications

Let it snow on your desktop, on your windows and have Santa running around your screen for that extra Festive Season Cheer.

According to the program's help screen, this was a port of a 1988 Desk Accessory, which was a follow-up to a 1984 electronic Christmas card. This program itself is not a Desk Accessory.

No music: just open your music player and choose some X-mas music.

Note: Snow runs fastest if it is selected as the frontmost application.
It takes a while to cover the bottom of the screen with snow if it is selected.
Also, the trees appear very faint on a blue background with OS 9.2.2

v1.0.0 beta test with OS 9.2.2

Merry X-mas! to all on M.G.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k

Snow for Macintosh and screensavers like Pyro do interfere. When Pyro wakes up all snow will have melted and falling flakes will display an un-snowflake-like behaviour.

Might work with OS 6 Mini vMac, Basilisk II,SheepShaver; untested.

After some trial and error, I realized that the About screen of this program runs contrary to the description here. This application is, in fact, not a Desk Accessory, but was a port of one. May change the description to reflect this.

"Rule to keep, is if you need to re-upload a pic to the same spot. Give it a new unique name."

Thanks again Mike i will try to keep that in mind.

I was able to fix it, Laurier.

Basically its a bug with the engine that delivers the MG. In which, if a screenshot fails to upload correctly and the user (you & me) reuploads the picture with the same name, the engine auto-alots your file a new name but does not add the new name in the page. So the screenshot appears to be lost. Its not, but it won't show in the page either.

Rule to keep, is if you need to re-upload a pic to the same spot. Give it a new unique name.

That is odd, Laurier.

Can you add a screenshot to the page, but do not delete it, so that I might also take a look and maybe help figure it out?
