This is the Apple QuickTime alpha, version 1.0a9. The May 1991 QuickTime Alpha CD-ROM contains the QuickTime extension, programming stuff, Mac OS 6.0.7+7.0 installer, sample movies (over 350MB of them!) and photos, and goodies.

The first download above is a StuffIt archive contains only a QuickTime 1.0a9+ extension, MoviePlayer, and PICTCompressor.

Requires a color 68020 Macintosh computer, Mac OS 6.0.7-7.0.1, 4 MB or more of RAM. Doesn't work at all in emulators

What System version are you using? Which Mac?

Whenever I add the QuickTime extension to the extensions folder and go to restart, I get a message saying BAD F LINE INSTRUCTION.
