You've completely changed the contents of one of your earlier replies in an edit to respond to my request to share how you tried to open the first image. It took a few minutes for me to understand that. If you don't mind, I'll be responding up here. I am only providing all this background to make this conversation less confusing for others to read. Smile

The first image is an ISO-9660 hybrid disk image with a cdr suffix that's appropriate for burning to a CD. Mac OS X 10.3 and later know how to handle it without additional software. An old Toast should also be able to mount it. As I recall, Toast version 4 was 68k friendly.

That image is not a Disk Copy 4.2 image or a simple, single partition that Mini vMac can interpret, so it might not work as well for emulators.

The StuffIt archive that you found is friendlier for older Mac OS. It's appreciated, thank you for uploading that.

Okay, well if you happen to have trouble with another hybrid cdr image on this site, hopefully what I've shared below can help get you up and running.

Thanx but I just uploaded the Mac version of 2.5

>There are only Windows versions 2.0.3 & 2.1.2 and NOT Mac versions 2.1 & 2.5.

The cdr image is a Disk Utility generated hybrid DVD/CD-R master image that opens fine on Mac OS X 10.3 and later. It absolutely does have Windows and Mac (Classic) partitions. The Mac partition has QuickTime 2.1 and 2.5 in separate folders.

Essentially it's an Apple Partition Map based image, partition 2 is Windows friendly, partition 3 is Mac HFS.

1:
partition-name: MRKS
partition-start: 1
partition-number: 1
partition-length: 35
partition-hint: Apple_partition_map
2:
partition-name: QUICKTIME_2
partition-start: 36
partition-synthesized: true
partition-length: 113
partition-hint: Apple_ISO
3:
partition-name: Toast 10.0.8 HFS/Joliet Builder
partition-start: 149
partition-number: 2
partition-length: 18263
partition-hint: Apple_HFS
partition-filesystems:
HFS: QuickTime 2

You didn't mention what you were using to open this image. The screenshot looks like 10.2 or earlier. What software are you using for opening disk images? Toast 6?

I opened it in SheepShaver running OS 9.0.4 (Not to run in that). The other file that said it had an Apple Version only mounted one image which had 2 Windows Installers. Also there is absolutely a QuickTime 2.5 for Mac, I'm running it in Mini vMac 7.5.5. (Which also didn't recognize the first download) as far as the screenshot, its just a plug-in extention called Aaron to make OS9 look carbonized in OS9.

Hello I downloaded the Quicktime 2.cdr file that says "The first download above includes Mac versions 2.1 & 2.5 as well as Windows versions 2.0.3 & 2.1.2"

There are only Windows versions 2.0.3 & 2.1.2 and NOT Mac versions 2.1 & 2.5. Does anyone know where to get the Quicktime 2.5 installer? installing in Mac OS 7.5.5. Thanx

OK! Got It! I found some rare Windows versions of QuickTime 2, including QuickTime 2.04 (the only version that comes with Adobe Acrobat 2.1 and Schoolhouse Rock Grammar Rock (1995 version), and also QuickTime 2.1.1.51 Beta which comes from a CD created by Zane Publishing in 1996. I was kinda rushed because I uploaded the ZIP files individually and there is a long list of versions individually instead of just one ZIP file so I don't know if you can fix that, I will appreciate it if you do! Anyways, I found them!

Added more Windows versions of QuickTime 2. It appears that the Windows versions are now complete!

You can find the extras to Movie Player on the Movie Player 2.5.1 post.

I don't think the Authoring Extras and Goodies are already available here,
but they're a welcome addition to this page.

Edit: Thanks for the upload. - IIGS User

I have the 2.5 plugins Authoring Extras and Goodies. Are those included in the download here for 2.5?

Thanks for posting this. For some reason, MG can't group QuickTime in its Find feature. I found this alphabetically in the APPS directory (under Q, of course).

Feel free to add whatever missing QuickTime 2.x version you'll find.
