You got that! Now I got it too... thx!
I'm already running AHT v2.2.5 on my Mirror Door, had to do more hours of hacking it to see 2.2.5 running. Don't know yet if I can get v2.5 to run on my "G4". Btw yer first link is a 200MB collection that's entirely for intel-based Macs.

Apple removed much of the "high level" code for G4s from AHT 2.2.5 but then they added support for G4s (or at least my mdd) to the "low level" AHT code. The result is, after removing one tiny lock-out line of code, my Mirror Door completes without error the G5 PowerMac7,2 quick and extended tests in AHT v2.2.5

2.2.5's advantage is that it knows about graphics card upgrades like the Radeon X600-X800 and X1000 series. A disadvantage? is it stopped recognizing my alleged RAM speeds by declaring "unknown" as the speed of all my (installed, 467mhz) ram modules. Needs work. anyway, semper fi!

They're right here.

PowerMac

PowerMac v1.2.6, PowerMac G4
PowerMac v2.2.5GMc2
PowerMac v2.5GMc1
PowerMac v2.5.2GMc1

Very easy to make an AHT CD. Just put in a blank CD, right click on the correct AHT and select "Burn To Disc".
If it boots - it's the correct AHT.

Just wanted to say that if there is no mention on the Apple's discs for AHT, then this one is not included in the media. Perhaps not enough space inside ? Good luck in searching the version(s) you want.

Why no need? MG still has no AHT v2.2.5 nor v2.5.0 for PowerMac. I want to get my hands on them because I've already found AHT v2.1.0 is useful for G4s and wasn't popularised as such.

AHT v2.5.0 should be on an OSX 10.4.0 install disc set for PMG5, while AHT v2.2.5 should be on OSX 10.3.0, 10.3.4, 10.3.5, and/or 10.3.7 for PMG5. Now 10.3.5 can be excluded.

Hi SkyCapt

Indeed. No need to DL archives just for AHT. Screenshot #3 displays the disc & no mention to AHT on it...

No AHT on '5088' either. How could they make a PMG5 install disc set without AHT. Is the '5202' disc image broken?

page hard to find. What about splitting into two new pages which follow the naming scheme already in use: "Mac OS X 10.3.5 (PowerMac G5)" and "Mac OS X 10.4.2 (PowerMac G5)" ?

So I dL the '5202' disc1 (all 3 parts), combine and unzip and lock/mount the .toast image, expecting to have an AHT partition for AHT v2.2.5 but there is no AHT partition. Did Apple put this AHT (for PowerMac) v2.2.5 on the G5 OSX10.3.5 disc1 or disc2?? There must be some AHT associated with this disc pair, but I'd hate to dL all of d2 just to find no ...

So I dL the 7.8GB '5535' disc2, to find it is NOT the disc2 for OSX 10.3.5 like this page description implies, but it's disc2 for OSX 10.4.2 Sept 2005. It's so big because it has iLife'05, iWork'05 Trial, and, OS9 in 16 languages for Classicmode. NO AHT (because 10.4.2 has AHT v2.5.2 on disc1). The OS9 here is stripped down in size for Classicmode-only, not meant to be booted OS9, and unless there's a change in which a version number remains the same, nothing unique about the OS9.

Now I hope the remaining disc '5088' is 10.3.5 part two? (with AHT v2.2.5 ?). Two separate pages for this stuff could have prevented this drag of 8GB wrong dL.

Ok. Thanks. You can remove the empty slot as it is not necessary to let it. For u, I have done that as it link to the Macintosh Garden homepage.

Thanks for your upload, semvalidade2006. There is however a little problem, as the 8th & 9th download have the same name, sorry. Good luck in your endeavor... Wink
