Guides on emulating older applications

PageSpinner is an easy-to-use web authoring package for Mac OS. The HTML Editor supports HTML 3.2, HTML 4 and XHTML plus additional Netscape and Explorer extensions. Beginners will appreciate the application’s extensive help while more advanced web authors will enjoy PageSpinner's many advanced features and additions.

* The included PageSpinner Guide help you to get started working with HTML in PageSpinner together with a comprehensive HTML Assistant that helps you to compose your HTML pages and create JavaScript actions.

* PageSpinner's text-oriented editor provides quick access to often used formatting and also supports Include files that makes it possible to change the look or contents of a site by editing a single page.

* The built-in HTML Checker lets you easily check the syntax of the HTML in your pages.

* Support for extension plug-ins allows you to download new or updated functions and examples from the net without upgrading the application.

* PageSpinner is in addition scriptable with AppleScript, making it possible to take a script-driven approach to creating and updating a site. Several scripts that automate tasks and kits for publishing data from popular database applications are included in this package.

* PageSpinner also supports Web technologies such as: XHTML 1.0, Cascading Style Sheets, Server Side Includes, PHP, Embedded Objects, Java, and JavaScript.

Please note: An up-to-date version for Mac OS X is still arround and can be found at Optima System's website. (see the "purchase" link)

I remember "Arachnophilia" at Windows 3.11. I think to be version for classic Macs too

@Bolkonskij: If PageSpinner stops doing what you need in an HTML editor, I suggest a look at "Arachnophilia" which is a very similar (but a more up-to-date) sort of program - only, it is in Java and runs on Mac OS X, Linux and Windblows - it is a freeware, or rather, a "CareWare" application. Which in itself, is a pretty cool concept.

Thanks to bertyboy, I've been able to upload PageSpinner. I've chosen version 4.1 because to me, this version works best (stability, speed, ...) under 9.2.2 on my PowerMac G4. Others may prefer a different version - feel free to add your favorite version. Smile Anyway, great html editor!
