This app works with: SheepShaver, Basilisk II, Mini vMac

This was a US only version, as it included DES encryption. As I remember this version was unique in that it included Norton Backup, previously sold separately. The installer lists these components:

Desk Accessories
Key Finder: locates special characters
Fast Find: locates files and folders
Norton Partition: Partitions disks

Startup Documents
DiskLight: Indicates disk activity
FileSaver: Protects data on disks
Directory Assistance II: Enhances Open and Save
Norton Partition Extension: Automounts partitions
Norton Backup Scheduler: Backup timer

Applications
Speed Disk: Improves disk performance
Norton Utilities: Provides data recovery
Norton Encrypt: Provides file encryption
Layout Plus: Customizes the Finder
Floppier: Copies floppy disks
Norton Backup: Backup data
Wipe Info: Permanently erases data

Norton Backup is worth the purchase price alone. It works all the way up to Mac OS 9.2.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k

System 6.0.4 and later.

the Norton *.img files are not recognized.

A Mini vMac and SSW 6.x friendly copy of these disks are now up on the page (2nd download).

Note: The reason the original upload is not suitable for Mini vMac as drag/drop image files into a running Mini vMac window to mount: The images (Top DL) were made using Disk Copy 6 Compression format - and compressed Disk Copy 6 image files will not mount in a Mini vMac Window, they need to be created using an uncompressed image format only, to mount.

You are correct. But the disk images are OK. Double clicking on a real Mac running Mac OS 9.2.2 mounts the disk images without complaint.

I tested with mini vMac using the Macintosh Plus ROM and a System 6.0.8 boot dsk, but the Norton *.img files are not recognized. Sad
