The final freeware version 2.6.6 of the Macintosh DVD extractor, MacTheRipper.

MacTheRipper is a DVD ripper (extractor) for Mac OS X. It uses the open- sourced GPL libdvdread and libdvdcss libraries. We also use the ‘tocgen’ program in certain modes, which is a part of the ‘dvdauthor’ project. It is not necessary to install these libraries and executables separately to use MTR. This product is made to backup DVDs you have legally purchased for personal use onto your hard drive.

I can highly recommend RipIt! on the Mac App Store. It was a little pricey when I first purchased it, and I admittedly use DVDShrink for almost all (if not all) of my purposes, but RipIt! is a nice little ripper, that can also rip to Apple's own .dvdmedia format (single file that launches DVD Player, and works exactly as the DVD does).
