@krausjxotv: Thanks for the Disk Copy images. They work now as expected. Great. Beer Beer Beer

I have created Disk Copy 4.2 image files using ShrinkWrap and added them.

Its a pity these are not Disk Copy image files. Archiving them as folders, destroys their original floppy disk System 6 desktop file, of which, originally they were compatible with.

This software is capable of installing to & running on both SSW 6 and 7 Mac OS's or newer.

Also, ".img" files are not compatible with System 6, so anyone with original Mac II or earlier hardware running SSW 6, will not be able to use the image in it's present form.

For some reason this ".img" will not mount in Mini vMac either, if you try dragging the image into it's running window. These files cannot be accessed easily in Mini vMac, SSW 6 or 7.

No matter. The image mounts OK in Basilisk II/SheepShaver (or a Mac running SSW 7 or newer), and the files can be accessed that way.

I have recreated the disk image so the file dates are not changed. The error about original disks is because of the changed dates. The install will work with folders in a disk image.

You have the original disks? Could you 1st please copy them write-protected to Disk Copy 4.2 image format and make a StuffIt ".sit" archive of them and uploading this here? - Disk Copy 6.x is also OK but I'm preferring DC 4.2 if at all possible. Also, if you can finish the archive as ".sit" on your PM 5260, before you move the archives across your networks, that would also go a long way in preserving the content en route.

I hit another problem with the current upload, in that it cannot install in its current form. Either from the mounted .img or if the contents are copied to a hard drive, or if the install folders are recreated as floppy disk images.

Mounted or copied to HD the installer immediately asks for the disk "Program 1" to be inserted into a floppy drive. So it appears those folders of the floppy content will need to be imaged anyway, before the install can proceed...

Claris MacProject Pro, install errors 01
The installer is asking for disk "Program 1" (install disk 1).

So I then created 800k Disk Copy images of the install set, from each of the folders. But this only gave a different error message:

Claris MacProject Pro, install errors 02
The installer complains about the disk images not being "genuine".

So it really does look as tho' that to get this set to install, they must be original unmodified 800k Disk Copy floppy disk images, else they are unusable as is.

If you can make Disk Copy images of the disks and put them into a StuffIt archive for uploading that would be great. Thanks.

I copied the original disks to a Power Macintosh 5260/100 running System Software 7.6.1 and the dates were not changed. I then copied the folders and files using AppleShare to a Power Macintosh 9600/200 running Mac OS 9.1. The dates were then changed to Mon, Feb 6, 2040. The 9600 does not have a working floppy disk drive to read the disks. Both computers are set to the correct date. After packaging the files to an .img then .sit file I then connect to a Windows 8.1 computer from the 9600 using DAVE to upload the files. I can combine the files on the 5260 to avoid date changes on the files.

@krausjxotv: Thanks for the upload. Tho' Claris products go under the title beginning "Claris" to group in with other softwares produced by that organization, when browsing files alphabetically.

See page for: Claris MacProject Pro 1.5 (this page may need to merge with that one).

Also, an oddity about this upload. All of the files contained inside the ".img" archive have the Creation and Modification date and time stamps: Monday, 6 February 2040 1:28 AM

What method of archiving was used that could have caused this?

The .img contains folders and not original disk images of the install set, which is one factor.
