Emulation
This app works with: Mini vMac II

IBM 3270 Terminal Emulator for the Mac that allows you to replace your 3270 terminal with a Macintosh to connect to an IBM mainframe.

Download #1 contains version 2.1 of the application, released in 1989, and the MacMainFrame Checker utility. The package is incomplete as it is missing the required drivers (see 3rd screenshot). The program will not run without a MacMainFrame II or DX driver.

Download #2 contains contains three Disk Copy 4.2 images made from content folders of disks for version 4 of the software, released in 1991. It contains drivers that include support for Coax, Token Ring and SDLC networks. It also includes a DX driver but I have not tested it for compatibility with v. 2.1 in download #1

Disk 1 contains MacMainFrame Workstation which provides IBM 3270 emulation, and MacMainFrame 3287 which provides 3287 print emulation whereby both Mac and host-based jobs can be processed on a shared print device.

Disk 2 contains MacMainFrame Checker, printing fonts, the Avatar control panel, and some drivers

Disk 3 contains MacMainFrame Checker, the Avatar control panel, and some more drivers

An earlier version of MacMainFrame (not on this page) was available in 1988. The release date on the page is set to 1988 to reflect this.

Compatibility
