This app works with: Mini vMac

These 5 disks came with every single Macintosh 128k in 1984. They are special because they're in French. I couldn't find them anywhere on the net!

I wanted to make a copy of the disks for myself, the originals are bound to fail at any moment! But I figured someone here might want them as well. I used DiskDup+ 2.7 on my Plus to create the images and they are Disk Copy 4.2 compatible, so they all work on Mini vMac. Be careful though, you need a 64k ROM (128k & 512k) to use some of them!

1st download: All the 5 disks in a StuffIt archive.

2nd download: "Disquette Système" is the original Finder 1.1g startup disk. It works superbly well on Mini vMac with the Mac Plus ROM

3rd download: "Visite Guidée" is the "Your Guided tour of the Macintosh" disk. As said above, it boots with any mac (until the Mac SE) but you can only use it with a 128k or 512k

4th download: "MacWrite". It is the very first word processor of MacWrite for the Macintosh. Works with any machine or system (before SSW7 that is). Included is version 2.20 of MacWrite.

5th download: "MacPaint". The original Paint program for the Macintosh, by Bill Atkinson. This is version 1.4

6th download: "Tour de MacWrite et MacPaint". As the name suggests, it is the demo disk, showing you how to use MacWrite and MacPaint.

7th download: "". You will find in this .zip file a digitalised version of the original Cassette. Side A goes with "Visite Guidée" and Side B goes with "Tour de MacWrite/Paint".

PS: I also have the manual that came with the box. I will be scanning and uploading it soon.

Architecture: 68k

Should be used as startup disks for early Macs (128k, 512k, 512ke, Plus)
Every system until 6.0.8 is supported.

Just uploaded the tape in a ZIP. It's not possible to upload .mp3 files on the Garden...
IIRC, the US version of the "Picasso kit" only included the Guided tour tape, as MacWrite and MacPaint were bundled separately. In France there was only one tape.

You have the tape as well, thats great.
May I ask for a Quicktime file (or something that VLC can play) to be stored on the Garden´s server?
That way all related stuff would be in one place.

Fixed the tour disks. This time, I used Diskdup 2.7 on my Mac Plus running 6.0.4.
I noticed that the disks were copy protected. Something must have gone wrong on my SE/30.

Hey there ^_^
Unchecked that BII box. Thanks for the info, I'm not into BII so I didn't know it could only run 32bit clean apps.

It seems there's a problem with the tour disks. MacWrite, MacPaint & the system disk do work but not the tours. I'm working on it. Seems that "Finder" is corrupted or something.

After fixing the disks then yes, I will try scanning the manual. I won't be taking the spirals off but I think that'll do.

Thanks for sharing this rare finding!
Could you please scan or photograph the manual and add it to this page?
(If its not asking for too much, that is.)
