MacFormat floppies No.1 to No. 35 - but not disk images of the floppy disks, sadly.

This archive was compiled by MacFormat and included with their CD-ROM issue 36 (April 1996) on the ROM, located in "MacFormat 36:Floppy:MacFormat Floppy Archive".

It was towards the end of floppy distribution for the magazine, and their staff/management had decided to include all past floppy content with that issue.

Some of the magazine's floppy issues had 2 or more disks attached. Their contents were placed together into the single folder representing that particular issue.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC

Some titles will run OK on PPC and more modern 68k color Macs, others will also run on very early Macintosh or Mini vMac, YMMV.

Although some of the titles are compatible with System 6, this image when extracted requires a Mac running System Software 7.0 or newer to mount the (Disk Copy 6) image.

@mrdav: Thanks. I made a replacement copy from the original media, to preserve date stamps. Now as Disk Copy image in StuffIt 3.6 archive. Save's 24bit the bother (he's been having upload issues today). I assume the DT database will match the same, so haven't changed that.

The MF_Floppies_94-96.img_.sit is not a StuffIt archive of an img disc image that contains the folders as the name would suggest. Rather, it is a StuffIt archive of a folder that contains the folders of the individual floppy items.

the page may be deleted.

No, I think its good to have these as a more accessible archive. I'm glad that you found it and put it up (& the DT database, too).

I see. Did not know before. As far as I´m concerned the page may be deleted.

This has been lifted from MacFormat CD issue 36 (April 1996). It was MacFormat's own team that compilied it like this. The numbering scheme represents the issue copy they were originally each distributed with.

Towards the end of floppy distribution for the magazine, their staff/management decided to include all past floppy content with that issue. Pity they didn't image them, tho'.
