Free and open-sourced software. The source code is also available from GitHub. That might mean you can port Keka to Linux and Windows. Not sure about that part though
Based on p7zip, it has similarities to 7-Zip functionality, like full .7z support.
It can compress files to formats like: 7z, zip, tar, gzip, bzip2, dmg, iso. It can also decompress RAR, 7z, lzma, xz, zip, tar, gzip, bzip2, iso, exe, cab and pax.
An optional contextual menu addon, is also available from the Keka site (10.6+, Intel only).
CompatibilityAccording to MadMac:
I just tested the Keka-1.0.4-leo.dmg (16.28 MB) link and it's only for the X86 Intel architecture, not PowerPC. The Tiger version runs like a charm on my G5.

@maciejka: Thanks. Yes, they are backed up and I also have retained copies.
No problem. I didn't think that's bad, so I uploaded these here. At least you have a backup now (you didn't delete these from the server I think?) for the future.
Yep. Now, this software is on the server, so, no problem. And it's a really good one, tho'.
I'd like to wish a nice year to 24bit.
Hi MacTouch, no worries. Despite their license and with apologies to maciejka, I have decided to pull these from this site. Not because of their age, but because hosting them deprives a freeware or shareware author of page clicks (their github DL's would be logged giving the author vital information), potential donations and help.
This page remains as a beacon, with links to the software that was here.
Should they disappear from the authors site, they can be reintroduced.
Thanks for this really helpful addition. I was missing a good zip/7z app in Sierra all the time.
The macOS built in ZIP utility is sub optimal at best, bzip2 with Terminal is working - if you like the CLI.
Keka is the one for sure.
Hi Mike,
All right & nice thing & well, my apologies. So, I could uploading it myself before, but...never mind. Have a nice year, otherwise.
Hi MacTouch. This is one of those exceptions to the 10 year rule.
As Keka carries a GNU licence, it may be distributed from here.
Its distribution notice is also visible in the Credits.html that is included in with the Tiger version
(and I assume with the later versions):
[Edit]: However; See above.
This software doesn't match the ten year rule actually (2010 for Tiger version & 2013 for others), so the page should be removed & released later! Sorry...
I guess another happy person will use this amazing software now
Can you provide some screenshots?
