Emulation
Guides on emulating older applications

Iomega Tools 4.3 enables the management of Iomega removeable media and drives. This is the first release with support for Jaz drives alongside Zip drives. The application's splash screen hints that it may also work with Bernoulli boxes.

Top DL: here is an image of the Iomega Zip Tools disk, version 4.3.1. This disk has already been "touched" by the original floppy install disk, which makes it a purely Macintosh disk now. I no longer have the floppy install disk, but it is not required: the above Zip Tools disk is sufficient to do a complete install.

2nd DL: disk image of the Win/DOS install floppy disk that also came with the distribution.

3rd DL: French version of the Iomega Zip Tools 4.3.

4th DL: image of Iomega Jaz Tools version 4.3 * Disk Copy 6 image in StuffIt ".sit" archive.

1st, 3rd and 4th DL are Mac OS Disk Copy images compressed with StuffIt.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k

According to the manual (at the time of release... 1996), this version requires a SE Macintosh or newer with 4MB of RAM, and MacOS 7 -> 7.5.3.

7.6 has also been tested and confirmed working. 8 and 9 need testing.

Could someone post the actual icon image for the Zip Tools disk? I vaguely remember it being the normal zip disk icon with tools written on the disk.

JAZ tools image is corrupt, I repaired and uploaded it as "Jaz_Install_4.3.img-fixed.sit"

The Win/DOS install floppy disk along with is very welcome along with the already existing Mac version.

I have now uploaded a DSKIMAGE copy of the Win/DOS install floppy disk along with a pic of the disk itself. Probably needs checking that all is OK.

For floppy imaging on your Win 95 lappy, RaWrite2.exe is a common (CLI) floppy imaging tool (Gnu). WinImage is another (trialware). My favourite is DSKIMAGE.EXE v.1.0 - a DOS based floppy disk imager found on old MS Developers CDs, but others progs use this name so you may have trouble locating the original MS copy online. Here's a useful page on a variety of disk imaging possibilities" for you.

I forgot to mention that I have a pristine copy of the Windows/DOS install floppy disk that came with the original purchase. If anyone wants a copy I can make it available to you if you tell me how image it (I have access to an ancient laptop with WIN 95 and a MacBook with Windows 7, if that helps. EDIT: Although I guess the MacBook is no use as it does not have a floppy drive)
