FSP was a transfer protocol, before FTP was established, and became the standard.

FSP was slow, and had no real error control - it was a terrible protocol, but because of its obscurity, some groups used it to trade illeg@l content.

For historical reasons, I uploaded a server and client.

I wouldn't say that it sucks Smile
There is plenty more information to be had at this page here, there are also articles scattered across here and there on the web.

I never heard of this file transfer protocol before. Even if it sucks, that was an interesting read. Are there any ancient FSP servers out there that could have extremely old abandoware or something, or none at all? (At least as far as abandonware is concerned.)

I figure most likely FSP has been completely replaced with FTP by anyone offering old software. But I figured I'd still ask.
