Emulation
This app works with: SheepShaver,

This is Apple's second release of the popular Final Cut series of video editing software. This version is for Mac OS 9.1 or higher. The version at the top is the full Final Cut Pro application provided by Euryale. This was released in 1999 and the last update was sent out in 2001. This software has not been supported since 2001 and is no longer available. This means that this version is considered abandonware. Have fun downloading.

The rest of the files is the complete set of 4 CDs in toast format:
- FCP 2.0 install CD
- Tutorial CD
- Cleaner 5EZ for FCP: The camera to web streaming solution.
- BIAS Peak DV 2.5 for FCP: Digital audio editing software for final cut.
Use StuffIt 5.5 or later to decompress.

Serial: B-373-HSF-170-QEC-413-ITW-176-GQB-340
Included at the bottom is the 2.0.2 update.

Note: Final Cut Pro 2.0 is not certified for use under MacOS X

Who did actually run FCP in SheepShaver?
I would like to give it a try, but only get errors at launch.
My setup was OS9.0 with QT Z-4.1.2 on a 10.6.8 host.

If you're not familiar with editing, FCP is not the way to go. The learning curve on it will be a week, believe me. So it's best you can't use it.

I recommend using iMovie to capture your video if you plan on shooting raw footage with a camcorder. You can do some decent editing with that.

For a movie that you just want to edit, try MPEGSreamclip, a very powerful freeware program. It's blazingly fast when loading videos, and very easy to use. It's better than iMovie when it comes to just editing because it's so fast. I've even used it to make gifs.

If you're looking for an application that will just convert movies into other formats, there is none better for OSX than FFMPEGX http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ It's a shareware program (you can use for free as I recall but it's worth every penny)

Those two or three apps are about all anyone needs to do some decent video production. Smile

yea im not really a hardcore editor i just want to learn to use the software at home and then use it at school, could the problem be not having 9.2.2 installed on classic ?

It should run. I ran FC Express on Panther with no problem. But it's the hardware requirements that you have to check on. I wouldn't dare run either of the two Final Cuts without an external scratch disk, and you also need to maintain drives with DiskWarrior when you're doing a lot of editing.

If this app runs (properly) on OSX 10.4/10.5, then I would consider it ACTIVE, and promote a takedown.

On the other hand, it is magnificent software, and incredibly useful for older macs (no real alternatives on OS9?).

Therefore, I vote for it to remain here!

Why was the other one (mine) deleted?
this one was the duplicate, also my comments on this one were edited out,
that's not ethical,

I'm not going to waste my time uploading anymore software.

Don't forget to download the support updates for this "unsupported abandonware":

http://docs.info.apple.com/jarticle.html?artnum=75153-en

Final Cut Pro 3 also has a long list of support updates.

by Euryale - 2009, November 8 - 12:58pm

I'd like to keep this one,
since I'm about to upload a screenshot.

by bubzie5 - 2009, November 8 - 12:37pm

Euryale i posted this same application. Maybe one of them needs to be deleted. I don't care which one. Thanks again and keep up the good posting.

by bubzie5 - 2009, November 8 - 3:40am

never mind keep this up my post of final cut pro 2.0 did not upload for some reason

by bubzie5 - 2009, November 8 - 3:38am

I have re uploaded this file to this website Eurayle. With full info. Thanks for the great software and keep up the good work.

Someone mistakenly and rudely said Final cut 2 was not abandonware,
( I almost felt a kick on my butt)
so I took the link down Myself,
then another user confirmed that this is actually Abandonware,
so I just put the link up again,

Now You IIGS_USER as a moderator, decide.
I have no problem either way.
and I don't want to break the rules.

by IIGS_User - 2009, November 8 - 3:15am

You mean we should remove this entry?

by Euryale - 2009, November 8 - 3:09am

Note:

Because of my HD space constrains,
I have not tested this Version (2.0 )
but I tested v1.2 under Sheepshaver,
so I'm sure this one works fine.

- Euryale

(BTW, there are two new [SAVE] buttons in page editing,
makes it a little confusing.)

by Euryale - 2009, November 8 - 3:00am

In the end, I guess this App is really Abandonware,
so I posted the download link once again.

by Euryale - 2009, November 7 - 5:03pm

Delete this post please.
I didn't know this software was not abandonware.
