EasyShare (not to confused with Kodak EasyShare) is a simple networking software tool for networking early (System 6 or earlier) Macs via the AppleTalk protocol. Today, it is perhaps most helpful for creating a simple network between early Macs and later models. It was first released in 1989.

The provided package contains the demo for EasyShare v1.0. As a demo, the software is very limited, with the most notable limitation being that a volume can only be connected for 10 minutes at a time.

Setting up is relatively straightforward. First, move the EasyShare INIT file to the System Folder and restart. Then, from the chooser, ensure that AppleTalk is active and that you have provided a User Name (EasyShare will not start with an unnamed user). From there, open EasyShare and add a volume or folder to be shared over the network by clicking "New" and navigating the dialogue to the chosen directory. If desired, you may also designate an alternative name for the volume to be published under from the main window. When you're ready, click "Publish". The volume is now connected to your AppleTalk network. Easy!

While the demo is provided as an application, the paid product was distributed as a desk accessory. If anyone should have a copy of the commercial version, please upload it here!

In 1990, EasyShare retailed for US $150.00, or $149.95, according to MacUser.

As found on MacGUI. For ease of use, the original files have been repackaged onto an 800k disk image and compressed as a binhexed Stuffit 5.5 archive.
