This software says unauthorized so can't launch on my Mac OS 7.5.5... How to launch it?
the disk copy 6.3.2 i copied off a mac os 9.1 install cd - i guess it doesnt run properly on os 7.6.1 ?? because it would NOT mount the images.. i had to actually use real disks + disk copy 4.2
ive just got this installed now.. after doing a trick taping the first disk to make it think its a DD disk... IT WORKS! perfectly even.. good crack .. perfection! u just need disk copy 4.2 + 5 floppies..
not sure if it works on os 8 + 9 but its working perfect on 7.6.1 right now
Perhaps something is wrong with your DL. I've just tested DL'ing, extracting: Disk Copy 4.2 images, Digital Performer Master, & Disks 2 - 5, and all mount without problem with Disk Copy 6.3.3.
Disks 2 to 5 are all 1.4MB images, only the Master disk is an 800k image.
All disks tested 100% mounting OK on beige G3 Mac, OS 9.1 and Basilisk II, Mac OS 7.6.1
If Disk Copy 4.2 isn't having a problem in loading the image for writing, try MountImage (also by the Disk Copy 4.2 author).
This will mount Disk Copy 4.2 images of 800KB, 1.4MB and even 400KB! on Mac OS's 6 or earlier to 7.6.1 (I haven't tested it on later OS's).
The top DL on that page (1.1B3), is the official Apple sanctioned version.
im trying to install this with OS 7.6.1 + disk copy 4.2 right now.. and its not letting me mount the image.. it just wants me to write it to a new floppy... but refuses to write to a 1.44mb floppy.. says it can only write it to a 800k floppy.. i have a few but they arent empty... when i try to mount it with disk copy 6.3.2 it gives me an error (-8819) saying that the disk image is damaged.. but i dont believe it is... as disk copy 4.2 doesnt say anything like that. was mounting disk images to the desktop not possible with disk copy 4.x?
I think the authorization disk reads/uses the serial number of the hard drive to generate an invisible authorization file. Thus preventing the owner from simply dubbing the install from one hard drive to another.
So there is probably no way to run this on a virtual machine.
This is a very old version. I doubt it would run on anything above 8.1.
Version 3 was the last OS 9/Classic version - so that would be the thing to look for if you are running 9.2.2.
The Master disk contains the Installation application. It also comes with a Authorize/De-Authorize application, which complains about not finding an SCSI or IDE hard disk as boot volume within my test environment inside SheepShaver, so I can't determine how to run this app w/o crashing.
how about some installation instructions??
i see a bunch of diskcopy images..
i cant get this to run without it crashing
is it possible its incompatible with mac os 9.2?
