Aldus DateBook Pro 2.0.1 & TouchBase Pro 3.0.1
With DATEBOOK PRO, you can schedule all your important appointments, sort lists of To Do's by priority, have alarms that pop up to remind you of important events, and many more features.
With TOUCHBASE PRO, you can organize and print your contact information in a variety of formats, labels, envelopes, fax covers, address books and FastLetters.
- Top DL: Installers for both DateBook Pro and TouchBase Pro in a Disk Copy 6 image file and compressed as ".sit" StuffIt archive. Requires SSW 7 and later if mounting onto a classic Mac OS desktop.
- 2nd DL: Same as above but in a Disk Copy 4.2 disk image suitable for System 6 desktops.
Use StuffIt Expander 3.6 or newer to extract.
MD5 checksum & filename: f1040ab2a8986e2b26f93bb90fb864aa *Pro-Bundle-dc42.sit
- Note: Install serial codes are included inside of the archives.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k
DATEBOOK PRO is not compatible with the following products:
- Adobe Type Reunion v. 1.00-1.02
- AutoDoubler, DiskDoubler--They are compatible with DATEBOOK PRO, but do not compress your calendar with these programs. The DiskDoubler init must load before the DATEBOOK PRO init.
- Caere Typist Init--Does not work properly with TOUCHBASE PRO integration.
- First Things First--Must be set to Compatible Display mode.
- GCC Printers--On certain printers, month view prints boxes with no numbers, banners, or items.
- Microsoft Mail and System 6.0.x--The DATEBOOK PRO init must load before the AppleShare init. Inits and extensions load alphabetically. Open the System folder and rename the DATEBOOK PRO init "DATEBOOK PRO extension" to "aDATEBOOK PRO extension" so that it appears before the AppleShare init. You can also use extension managers such as the Now Utilities Startup Manager to change the init loading order.
- Norton Essentials for PowerBook--Older versions of Norton Essentials may cause DATEBOOK PRO to freeze randomly.
- Novell or TOPS networks--DATEBOOK PRO may crash if you try to launch DATEBOOK PRO by opening a shared calendar on the network. Open a calendar on your machine first, then open the shared calendar. After closing a shared calendar, open a calendar on your machine.
- Some "cute" inits, extensions, such as "Bob's Eyes", "Talking Moose", and "Oscar the Grouch"-These may cause redraw problems or unexplained crashes. If you are experiencing any problems, we recommend you remove these inits.
Additionally, the TOUCHBASE PRO integration feature requires System 7. DATEBOOK PRO uses its own Date & Time formats and does not conform to System 7.1 Date & Time Preferences Control Panel settings.
Special Note for At Ease Users: The "Mini DATEBOOK PRO" feature is only available from the Finder, not from At Ease.
TOUCHBASE PRO is not compatible with the following products:
- SuperLaser Spool 3.0 w/ImageWriter II -- When you print a Fax Cover the right side of the page is cut off. Turn off SuperLaser Spool and use the Apple ImageWriter driver.
- AutoDoubler, DiskDoubler--They are compatible with TOUCHBASE PRO, but do not compress your contact files with these programs.
Important note: TOUCHBASE PRO and DATEBOOK PRO Integration requires System 7.

Thanks, that fixed it. I don't know how i got ahold of a spanish system version. No other applications were in spanish.
sorry about the confusion and thanks for the help
I've looked at both of these programs fairly closely including using ResEdit to examine their resource fork files and there is no Spanish language or fonts built into them. This can only be caused by your OS as far as I can tell. It might be better if like MacTouch suggests, that you try a fresh Mac OS on your SE.
One good source of unmodified and direct from Apple, System 6 disk images is the Apple Dev CD's from 1992.
The top DL on that page will do. It contains U.S. Mac System installs for System 6.0.7, 6.0.8, 7.0 & 7.0.1 - all in Disk Copy 4x format and ideal for a Mac SE. - It also contains international system installers but I assume that in your case you will want a US English copy of the Mac OS.
That's really very strange. Looks like the problem comes from your system 6. Could you try to install a new system on your Mac SE to see what's happen ?
So, I installed Datebook 1.0 to try it out and it's in spanish too. I haven't seen this in any other software. I'm pretty new to system 6, is there a way to change the language from the system, or do i need to reinstall from a different version maybe? (everything else is in english except for Datebook 1 and 2 on my Mac SE)
sorry about the mixup, it must be on my end. :/
Thanks Mike for having replaced the second image. I'm not using these softwares myself, but it's always good for anyone who wants to.
I noticed that like most installers from this era, it allows "clean" software uninstall. Only empty folders subsist there.
Don't worry for the virus, it is now removed. It is not too dangerous. But, the mains system boot disks are cleaned. I have to check the others progressively when used. I will upload also here some new Mac antivirus...
MacTouch: I've since replaced the 2nd DL above with one that appears to be OK for installing without it complaining on Mini vMac SSW 6x & 7x
Yes, there seems to be. If you do a "Custom" install, you can install DateBook Pro OK without any problem, but TouchBase Pro does not approve of the disk and will not install. Its TouchBase that has the problem.
I noticed that the installable files are all StuffIt ".sit" archives so I just used StuffIt and extracted the content for TouchBase, bypassing the Installer app. This was how I completed the install.
I may revisit the original image and see if I can get a better copy that gets passed the copy protection. I had created the Disk Copy 4x image above from the top DL's Disk Copy 6 image because Disk Copy 6 is unusable in SSW 6 or earlier and this program SSW 6 compatible.
Sorry to hear that you got the viruses and hope that you've cleared them OK.
Well, I'm very sorry. The virus was on several system disks on my own. So, no problem with that. I have repaired all volumes infected as I could. For the serial, I need glasses probably, because the last character is a "5" and not a "S".
The second image still ask me for an original disk in Mini vMac, however:
As you can see, the image has mounted fine. But the installer doesn't recognize the original disk. May be a copy protection ? The disk is locked & sizes are not the same. Fortunately, the first image is working perfectly, so that's not a real problem, except for other persons...
Hi MacTouch. I cannot detect any virus in the first image. Tested with Disinfectant in SSW 7x and 6x and with Virex in SSW 7x. It comes ups clean for me (none detected in 2nd image either).
Oddly (with regards to installing this software), Mini vMac is what I used to install and test with running the programs using the 2nd disk only. The .image file drag and mounts in a running Mini vMac window OK for me. Also OK, extracted from the .sit inside of Mini vMac's "HD" this .image mounts as a disk image in both SSW 6 & 7 using MountImage in SSW 6 and Disk Copy 6x in SSW 7x.
Weird. So I'm running this on a Mac SE w/ System 6.0.8. I will try to run disinfectant when I get home. The days of the week on my calendar in Datebook are definately in Spanish. No other program is in spanish on my machine. I installed using the 2nd download, since the first didn't work for me. I also couldn't find any options to change the language, either in the installer or in the application.
Thanks for the help, you guys rock
Nope. Nothing in Spanish with the installer, nor the software itself. When I entered the serial, the keyboard was not in English, but in German. But it was only the system configuration in Mini vMac. I have installed the software with the installer without issues. The second archive is not working with Mini vMac, but I suppose it's normal if it is destined for physical floppy drives...
[EDIT] Warning: As I suspected in this archive, the first image is infected by a virus. Tested with Disinfectant, the Desktop file seems to be infected by the CDEF virus. Perhaps it could be the source of our problems here...
Hi MacTouch. The included serial was what worked for me.
Any sign of Spanish in your install?
The only anomaly I encountered was the TouchBase Pro would not install using the installer. I noticed they were all in StuffIt archives so I used StuffIt to complete the install. I added a few fresh screenshots above of both running and serials I used in the "About" dialogs.
Hi there,
I have to say that the serials included into the archive are not working, as I have tested them. The serial number I have provided is working with the two programs, whatever upper or lower case...
Huh? It installs and runs in English for me. It looks just like the screenshots above on my installation of this. I didn't see any options for a language specific install either.
The text says both are the same, just using different versions of Disk Copy (one for System 6 and one for System 7), so both must be the Spanish version unless there's a preference option or installer option to change the language.
thanks i don't see how i missed it
edit: the first download won't let me install from the floppy i made using shrinkwrap. it says it's not a real disk.
The second download's installer worked fine, but Datebook Pro is in Spanish. I'm looking to change it to english if possible. Thanks
You must have missed it or didn't extract the contents from the archive above.
Once extracted it contains two items:
1: The PRO BUNDLE.img to install either app from.
2: The install serial numbers for both apps, entitled: "PRO BUNDLE Serial Numbers.txt"
Edit: Serial numbers removed since they are in the archive.
Try "buvc0z9s8h1n7dab" & let me know if it works...
I can't find the serial number anywhere.
