"I was lamenting how much a paint program cost — the cheapest was PixelPaint at $499," says Williams. "I asked Timmer how long it would take him to whip up a cheesy little paint program. He said, 'About two weeks'."
According to Williams, Cotter presented him with "a good prototype" of Color MacCheese just two weeks later. "We tried to get other companies to sell it," he recalls. "But they all wanted to charge $500 bucks, because it was supposed to compete with PixelPaint. The whole concept of that pissed us off, so we started Delta Tao to sell it cheap. We took it to Macworld Expo, selling our floppies in hand-painted boxes — we couldn't afford box printing — and we sold about 800 units at $49 each in four days."
"We had the cheesiest booth at the show, and we had a blast," he adds. "With that money, we started the company — though we always wanted to do games."

The info screen says the app is licensed to Joe at Delta Tao, so I´m guessing its a full version.
If you are willing too hand out a small amount of money for a pristine copy, it would be fine to have the original disk image archived here of course.
Is this link still only a Demo? Theres a copy on eBay UK at the moment that i could grab
I contacted author Joe Williams about CMC since his website said he was willing to send the source code to someone willing to update the software.
Here is his reply:
"Alas, CMC is long since dead."

The MacCheese link still says "DEMO". Can't find Apprentice. On Mac OS 9.2 screws up color and turns the font italicized and shadowed.
It's now freeware, the main link appears to be a demo:
