This software is the successor to Claris MacDraw Pro. Renamed "ClarisDraw" it is the final in the "Draw" series from Apple and Claris. New features include PPC and 68k native, binding text to a path, bevels and drop-shadows on objects, etc.

The full installation sets for this rare vector drawing program from Claris Corp. Sourced by 24bit and Protocol 7. Respectively; ClarisDraw 1.0Dv1 (German language) and ClarisDraw 1.0v3 (US English).

[Top DL]: ClarisDraw 1.0v3 + ClarisDraw 1.0v4 Updater (US Eng)
MD5 checksum & filename: 4f0dc92b645e64ffacd055cd13c2b571 *clarisdraw-eng-10v3.sit

[2nd DL]: ClarisDraw 1.0Dv1 (German language)
MD5sum: 739edd5ab028f43e893c01767aa48e7d *clarisdraw-de-10v1.sit

[3rd DL]: ClarisDraw 1.0Fv1 (French Language) - a pre-installed copy
Alternative DL for ClarisDraw 1.0Fv1 Click Télécharger at bottom of French page to DL

The (US & German) installer sets are imaged as Disk Copy 4.2 disk image fies and compressed as Stuffit 3.6 .sit archives. These can be written back to floppy disk, if necessary, as well as mounted onto a desktop and installed from there.

ClarisDraw has features similar to more advanced vector drawing programs such as FreeHand and Illustrator such as binding Text to a Path and Layers support. It also lacks typographical controls that you'd expect from those high end vector drawing apps. ClarisDraw never became a serious player in the DTP world.

It does however retain a Claris "Look & Feel" that makes using ClarisDraw a breeze to those familiar with other Claris software products. Its an excellent program for knocking out flyers and brochures that look fab, quickly.

[See Also]: MacDraw, MacDraw II and MacDraw Pro

Architecture: 68k PPC

Will install native to either 68k or PPC Macintosh. System Software 6.0.7 to Mac OS 9.2.2.
Also runs OK under "Classic" in Mac OS X

Minimum System Requirements:
• Mac Plus or newer
• Any PPC Macintosh
• System 6.0.7 or newer
• 2Mb of RAM - 4Mb RAM with Mac OS 7.0
• 8Mb of RAM for PPC Macintosh

On ClarisDraw's 1st run, it will want to be personalized. A serial entry is optional, not required.

If its the US English 1.0v4 updater, its already included in with the top DL see: "[Top DL]: ClarisDraw 1.0v3 + ClarisDraw 1.0v4 Updater (US Eng)", in Description area above.

Sorry, I didn't see that.

I'm not sure what the updater I've got is. It's called "v4", but when you run it it talks about v3 (I've definitely got v4 installed and use). Either way it doesn't say what language version it is, but probably just US English.

I've got a ClarisDraw 1.0v4 updater

If its the US English 1.0v4 updater, its already included in with the top DL see: "[Top DL]: ClarisDraw 1.0v3 + ClarisDraw 1.0v4 Updater (US Eng)", in Description area above.

If its for other language releases then please upload it (bandwidth permitting). If your copy of ClarisDraw is for other languages, e.g; International English, please consider uploading that, too.

ClarisDraw is great and I still use it from time to time

ClarisDraw is one of my all-time favorite draw apps and I still use it. Above all others tho', I prefer FreeHand (sad to see that one get killed by Adobe).

I've got a ClarisDraw 1.0v4 updater which I'll try to upload over the weekend (it's only 2MB, but I've only got a dial-up connection).

ClarisDraw is great and I still use it from time to time when needing to do drawings with "precise" measurements which are more difficult in Illustrator.

Could be quite likely I confused something about the serials.
When using Claris Draw regularily I had typed in a serial - who knows why - and if my memory does not fail, one could not use a second instance with the same serial on a Apple Talk network.
If it works fine without any serials, thats perfect of course.

Thank you, 24bit, for having the archive to begin with. I have waited a long time to see a copy of this to surface and seeing two complete install sets arrive in the one day is phenomenal. I've placed the French archive here too. Pre-installed, it isn't as pristine a copy as the other two. I would really like to see a CD of ClarisDraw surface, but I think this is a very rare item.

About networking. I was curious to find out how ClarisDraw would behave and I have to say no, ClarisDraw does not require a serial number even when networking. I tested via an AppleTalk over TCP/IP connection today. Ran two copies of ClarisDraw at the same time, both installed from the same source and with the serial entry field left as "See Registration Card". I even turned on Program Linking in the Sharing Setup and ran two instances of it on the same Mac at the same time (one on the host Mac and the other via shared Program Linking). No complaints, whatever I tried. No SN's entered in any of my Claris apps (FileMaker Pro 4, the sole exception). Maybe you were thinking about Aldus/Macromedia Freehand, that program did scan AppleTalk networks looking for instances of itself and would refuse to run if it found one.

Well done Mike!
In case you have Macs networked together, that should both run ClarisDraw, you might try the serials from Diskette1. I recall ClarisDraw refusing to start, if it did see a copy already running on the network.
What about the French pre-installed version? Wouldn´t it be worth adding?
