Claris Claris Clear Choice |
Sophisticated Color Paint Software for Novice-to-Expert Business Users, Students and Artists - BrushStrokes from Claris Clear Choice is a 32-bit paint program for the Macintosh which offers a rich set of customizable tools and features. Designed to provide maximum power and enjoyment, the product provides a unique "How to Paint Guide" to instruct even the most "artistically impaired" user to discover their hidden creativity.
- Excerpt above, quoted from a Claris Corp press release, 1992, announcing the formation & new product line of its "Claris Clear Choice" subsidiary.
This copy of BrushStrokes had been pre-installed. Missing, is the "How to Paint Guide", a small but excellent manual designed for the novice in mind. A copy of the original install set as Disk Copy 4.2 image files would also be nice.
I have repackaged this copy into a locked Disk Copy 6.3 image file and compressed with Stuffit 3.6 for better backwards compatibility.

@Vitoarc: Thanks again for posting this up. It works really well under Basilisk II for me, so I'm not getting any issues there. Not a virgin as you say, but something that works is better than nothing at all, IMO.
The downsides for me with BrushStrokes is:
Choosing Invert (selection) Inverts the colors of the selection and does not invert the selection itself (this is not what I want it do).
Saving a file in any other than PICT format, the bitmap you are saving remains as "Untitled". It saves a separate file in the format you choose, if its not as PICT.
To a lesser degree, it only can open/save PICT, StartupScreen and Tiff - but thats not too much of an issue for me.
For me, the big plus is that it helps make my Claris collection more complete (a big fan of Claris softwares)
You're welcome MikeTomTom!
Let me know how this works for you. I've tested it and it seems like it's working well. The app was taken from a college CD that contained some unique programs. It wasn't exactly a virgin and needed to have the original S/N and "Registered to" fields removed. Hence why it was uploaded as a full copy and not an installer version.
@Vitoarc: Thanks for putting this one up. Another one for the Claris collection
It been years since I've had this and I'd lost my disks for it during a property move some time back.
Thanks to Balrog for helping me get this upload ready for distribution.
