For Mac OS 8 - 8.1 - Mac OS 9
Emulation
This app works with: SheepShaver,

This is the extremely rare BlueLabel PowerEmulator 1.8 final edition from Lismore Soft (later known as Lismore Systems). It was praised as being the best PC emulator several years ago (before the GuestPC/VirtualPC battle began, leavin' SoftWindows 98 on the back burner) though, sadly, it really seems to function EXACTLY like 1.7 because it has no noticeable bug fixes (at least none that I could point out anyway) or enhancements over the older version. This is a sharp contrast over 1.6 and earlier that had MANY changes added in the 1.7 release.

Sorry, no screenshots were taken, as I couldn't figure out how to copy the screen over to the Mac side from the emulator (unlike in VirtualPC 3.0, the emulator can't do Apple-A to 'select all' then copy to the Mac clipboard). But, to view in a mental picture, it is always in Full Screen mode and can't be minimized to a window to allow drag and drop, nor does it have access to the Mac menu bar durin' the emulation. Shortcuts can be used, however, if you can remember what they are. My favorite is Apple-Q, because it will go back to the Mac side, but unfortunately not before it asks you if you are sure that you want to quit the emulator (of course I am you idiot, why the hell else would I press it for? Most other applications don't ask if you want to quit first, and even if they do, it's usually to remind you to save your work, not just to get on your freakin nerves). And to anyone who's about to ask the million-dollar question "Does this download include the serial to unlock the software?" let me answer it for you here in advance: YES! Maybe some people are only concerned with postin on here for archival purposes, but I believe if a program is not fully functional after download, it ain't worth the download. That IS why you came here right? To download stuff, not just get a history lesson about old software. Sorry for the inconvience if I bored anyone with this long description about this application. Enjoy!

Compatibility
Architecture: PPC

64 MB RAM or more (PC-DOS only with less memory)
Probably OS 8 or later (just a guess because only was tested on OS 9)

Please be aware that in my test these things occured:

About this emulator; I took a short look into this one a long time ago, but not for a long time.

I am sorry to admit that I paid for this software back when it was new Tired

Suffice to say; It didn't get much use.

so certainly Version 1.8 would not be for 68k

For anyone interested to see what architecture a game is based on, take a look at NativeChecker.
This application will tell you if the game is based on 68k or PowerPC or both.

My Version 1.6 SE User Guide says it is for

• Any MacOS-compatible computer with a PowerPC processor
• MacOS 7.5.1 or later with a minimum of 16 megabytes of free RAM
...
• Compatibility with MacOS 9

so certainly Version 1.8 would not be for 68k

@SwedeBear: compare the DL'd file sizes of both. The top link, (for me) retrieves a file named "BLPE18.sit" of 0 (zero) Kbs in size
The link in Balrogs post below, retrieves a file named "BLPE18_0.sit" of 3.20 MB in size.

This happens more often than you may think (and seemingly never gets fixed by an admin). For example compare the Download link in the body of this ACI 4th Dimension upload. The correct amazonaws link in the body of the post has been there since early 2011. There have been other corrections made elsewhere but so far no admin has either seen them or bothered to fix them.

Of more concern perhaps is that no amazonaws link has been activated for recent posts in over 4 weeks. Perhaps if an admin reads this post something will be done about that, too.

[Edit] I stand corrected, the Up/DL limits have since been lifted.

The link below works, but the MG link above is back to giving a null file

The download doesn't work for me. All I get is a null file.

[Amended] The Macintosh Garden download link for this appears to be fixed now.

I noticed that, too. Seems you can't make Apple-Shift-4-Space bar windowed screenshots of emulators like vMac, Bas and Sheep.
The only I get is the title bar.

I need either to Apple-Shift-3 or to Apple-Shift-4 and mark the area with the mouse.

About this emulator; I took a short look into this one a long time ago, but not for a long time.
