A premier freeware PLAIN TEXT editor for Macintosh, BBEdit Lite for several years was the text editor of choice for many, being an infinitely superior alternative to TeachText or SimpleText. Among its many talents, BBEdit Lite could accept plug-ins, had powerful Reg Ex, and could correctly read Text files from other platforms.

YW. I only noticed the page again when Daxeria was making some changes and as I still use this software on my classic systems I thought I would give this page some respect too.
MTT, thanks for cleaning up!
Have replaced the 3.5.1 images with screenshots from 4.6, I'll move the 3.5.1 shots to the correct page.
Normally I would agree. However, curiously, none of these images are used elsewhere here. Not even on the BBEdit Lite 3.5.1 page (where I would expect to find them).
No big deal, just a curious oddity.
When a screenshot doesn't share the same name as the game entry,
this website may mix it with other entries.
You're not wrong, mrdav. It was not .hqx - I happened to be installing this yesterday when I read your post. So I've replaced what was here with my working copy. Its now a good .sit, Stuffit archive.
[Edit] Can't work out why screenshots from BBEdit Lite 3.5 are being used here tho'?
There is something wrong with this file. It is supposed to be BinHex but it is not. Instead it is just a scrambled mess if you look at it with a text editor. Nothing I have will decode it. It is not even an application misrepresented as hqx. Can someone please re-upload this?
StuffIt Expander opens them easily; just drag the file onto Expander's icon or an alias. I think a lot of people try to open things by double-clicking and it's not really a good idea.
Hi, I've been having a bit of trouble with the HQX files like this one which are on this site. What is the proper way to decode these buggers?
Its last version for free Mac OS 7.5.5 system
Thanks a ton for this one, I just cant stand SimpleText. Its Find/Replace function is first class.
