Guides on emulating older applications

The included applications highlight features of ATI's SmartShader technology. ATI demonstrates its latest vertex and pixel shader generation (called Shader 1.0 in DirectX terminology).

The following demos were originally written for DirectX 8 and the Windows operating system and have now been ported to the OpenGL ATI_text_fragment_shader for Mac OS X.

PowerPC processor
Mac OS X 10.2.8 or 10.3 and later
128 MB memory (256 MB memory recommended)
ATI video card with 32 MB VRAM (128 MB VRAM recommended)
(Radeon 8500, Radeon 9000, Radeon 9200, Radeon 9600, Radeon 9700, Radeon 9800 supported)

The demos will all run by default at a resolution of 1024x768.
The screen saver option for resolution switching is not available in Mac OS X 10.2.8 (screen savers will always run at the current desktop resolution).
