Time Bombed: The artWORKS program expired on August 31, 2004, due to (some say) a programming error by Deneba. This same time-bomb affects other Deneba products of the period, such as Deneba Canvas v3.5.

However, there is a cure: A simple ResEdit hack which will allow you to run artWorks until at least 2038...

PDFs were not attached to this page. But now I see them on the other page.

I've added the PDF links from the Campus Set's page to the description.

Yes, I mentioned that the file was missing. It'd be great to find it but I'm not hopeful!

I was aware all uploads go to FTP, just puzzled why the loose artWorks PDFs were not attached to this page. But now I see them on the other page.

There are two sections of the artWORKS manual (Basics, Exploring) on the FTP.

Did you know that every downloadable file that is uploaded to the MG, goes onto the FTP site, too?

Those PDF's were first uploaded on the "Campus Software Set" page. Reason being, the Campus set is from krausjxotv's collection, and he scanned his own docs to PDF, adding them to the Campus set page that he created. He may not have known about this page which was created before his, but it's his decision as to where he places items, and that's where they are now.

p.s.; the update file on the web archive is a dead link: The 1.0.1c Updater was hosted originally on Deneba's FTP site, which of course the Web Archive does not collect archives from FTP links.

Maybe it can be located elsewhere, but I think this one has gone, unless someone reads this page who DL'd it years ago and kept a copy.

@gingerbeardman: Thanks for the heads-up. I had created the patch using the file from the Campus set and assumed that this was from the same set. It may have been, but it had some bad date & time stamps and the registration info (hidden) in the data fork had been altered.

So I've replaced the above DL #1 with a good copy. One that the patch works with. It should be OK for everyone now.

I'm getting "sorry, the patch was unsuccessful. (data fork is different)". I've tried extracting with various versions of StuffIt. Any ideas?

edit: installing through the Campus Software Set gets a version of artWorks that can be patched.

Says "Problem: Time Expired" for me

Same here. It seems to be a time bombed copy.

[Edit] A cure has now been found and added to the page above Smile
