Port Townsend, Washington -- Celestin Company, Inc. ships Apprentice release 3, an attractively priced CD-ROM compilation of Mac source code and utilities. Many Macintosh programmers have been frustrated by the lack of an inexpensive collection of sample source code. The few collections that are available are not only out of the price range of many people, but contain outdated examples that may no longer demonstrate effective programming techniques. Apprentice contains over 640 megabytes of programmer utilities and up-to-date source code in CodeWarrior, Symantec, and MPW projects for C, C++, and Pascal.

In order to compile such an exhaustive collection of quality source code, Celestin Company contacted over 200 Macintosh developers and received their permission to include some of the best programming examples available. Users will find complete working examples of applications, games, control panels, extensions, utilities, and much more.

I would love to see this uploaded again (mega.nz or 4Shared). This would be an invaluable addition to the Garden.

I've been uploading large files all year to https://mega.co.nz/ (having used a pseudonym and throwaway email address to register). It has yet to reject or delete anything I've thrown at it. Clean interface, though I hear it doesn't work too well outside of Chrome or Firefox.

I've never posted to an upload site before. Please suggest one that:
1) doesn't display a bunch of false "Download" buttons;
2) doesn't limit the size of the file;
3) doesn't arbitrarily delete stuff;
4) doesn't charge a fee;
5) doesn't make me disclose a bunch of personal stuff to open an account;

Could you upload them to another site and add links to this page?

I have the complete set (#0 through #5) but I have been unsuccessful uploading to MG. I continue to get a "Bad URL" error during the final step of the process.

Thanks for uploading this! It really needs an external download mirror; I'll make one myself on the Old Mac Archive but it will take a few days... (UPDATE: external download added.)

Does anyone have any more of these Apprentice CD-ROMs?

A collection of source code and Mac OS software projects. This is the sort of thing that seems likely to vanish as hard drives fail, and seems worthwhile to archive.
