Comments
An installed fully functioning QuickTime is an important ingredient. Does QuickTime run OK on Windows 10?
Apparently "running" or "working" do not extend to "properly functioning" under Win-10, at least for my install. In draw mode, the object being drawn is not visible until the mouse button is released, thus making drawing essentially impossible.
Does it depend on QuickDraw for that level of functionality? Does Win-10 impair QuickDraw?
Installed on Lubuntu 18.04 LTS with WINE 3.0 last summer. The application required at least "QuickTime 7 for Windows" (1) to be able to convert word processor and spreadsheet files to MS-Office formats.
It is working fine until now with two exceptions:
1) French accents are not typeable on the keyboard, like what happened when AW6 is installed on a real Windows PC. (2) It seems that Apple never considered to fix that bug because "AppleWorks 6 for Windows" was destined primarely to the American educational market. (3)
2) There is a strange behaviour with the document size of the drawing module. At first, it is always showing insane margins. (4) Adjusting everything to 1 inche, I finally get a strange vertical rectangular document (6.5 x 18.0 in) instead of the standard US Letter I am used to work with. I still didn't find a way to overcome that limitation.

Notes:
(1) Look at OldVersion.com for that one.

(2) But they are readable on screen.
(3) That explains why it was available ONLY in English.
(4) Top 305,71 in / Bottom -241,65 in / Left 0 in / Right -235,88 in
Installed, updated, and confirmed working under Windows 10 Professional Edition, 64-bit. Now I can back up my Zip disks and view my old AppleWorks documents again.
Thanks for uploading!
Might anyone have a CD image of AppleWorks 6.2.9 Education Version?
I thought the only program for Windows made at the time by Apple was QuickTime! Anyway, I'll stick to Microsoft Works 8.5 for my daily use
Nah, it displays whatever fonts are available to it that are installed in the system it runs on. Those characters are no issue for it. There must be some other reason for it not showing certain characters for you.
Yes but special french chars (àèéùç...) aren't displayed. I think it's the same for other european languages. But it could be very useful to read old files
Likely these will be the main, if not the only (non-hybrid) Windows apps here. - Those produced by Apple inc. & Claris corp. - We love Apple apps.
It's so weird seeing a Windows program here, aside from hybrids.
Tested it on Mac OS X 10.9 with Wine and it works to. cf Avosmac n°142 p.6-7 for the installation howto (in french). www.pdf.avosmac.com
Tested it on Windows Vista/7/8/8.1.
Works like a charm.
