Appleshare Ip is the AppleShare server, when it first introduced support for IP protocols, over LocalTalk used in earlier versions. If you really want to find out more Apple still puts the manuals up, try the Getting Started - https://support.apple.com/en_US/manuals/appleremotedesktop

Actually, I think we were both wrong. You linked me to the server software to run an AppleShare server, though to be fair it includes client version 3.5. What I was looking for was the client component, which is basically just a system extension in your extensions folder which enables you to connect to servers and compatibles. I managed to find 3.8 here: http://asa.max1zzz.co.uk/English-North_American/Macintosh/Networking-Com...
however the 3.8.8 download (which happens to be PPC only) mentions the last 68k version as being 3.8.6. I also have no idea what AppleShare IP is.
