Animation Toolkit 1 - The Players (archived here) was meant to be the first of two products, with Animation Toolkit 2 - The Stage announced as its companion. The Stage was apparently never released.
Animation Toolkit 1 lets users prepare "film clips" of moving objects which play back at varying speed, like old-fashioned flip books. Drawings are built pixel by pixel in frames, using some of the tools from MacPaint. They can be copied and altered easily from frame to frame. Each film clip plays repetitiously as it is being constructed. A limited animation tool, but a lot of fun.

It's amazing this just works from System 1 all the way to Mac OS 9.2.2. Simply amazing. And for a 45kb program, all i can say is: not too shabby!
I wonder if this works under Tiger 10.4.11 on Classic.
This is a nice application, especially for it's time! I was able to run this on Mac OS 9.2, the screen gets a bit messy after closing it though.
I remember this included with HyperCard 2.3 package (the separate download is correct, though).
