With Aldus FreeHand version 3.0, new features now included re-sizable color, style, and layer panels including an Attributes menu, tighter precision of both the existing tools and aligning of objects. Compound Paths and text could be converted to paths, applied to an ellipse, or made vertical. In 1992 with a 3.1 upgrade, FreeHand now supported pressure-sensitive drawing and improved element manipulation plus adding more import/export options. In early 1993, the final of the 3 series reached version 3.11, supporting the TruMatch digital color-matching system, built-in support for Aldus Fetch and object-oriented PICT previews for EPS files.
At the time, Aldus FreeHand 3.x was arguably; The best vector based drawing application ever made!
