Emulation
This app works with: SheepShaver, Basilisk II,

A note about the downloads available above:

One experience: upon installing the "After Dark 9" for OS9 kit and then adding the files from this first download, the "Art Critic" saver defaults to "Shapes" paintings only, all looking kinda the same. The 4th dL (images folder) ended up missing, so by adding this images folder the Art Critic paintings becomes the correct default humorous lampooning of eleven well known works/artists (a Hula Girl makeover of "Christina's World" by Andrew Wyeth, a Warhol that has campbell soup cans replaced with flying toasters, a Picasso, Dali, Magritte, ...)

After Dark Deluxe
(This CD image is a Win/Mac hybrid CD, Enjoy! -PowerPup)
Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC

This will run all After Dark modules on Mac OS 7.1 up to 8.6.

Do not run with other screensavers active.

Thanks for After Dark Deluxe (4) !
There is a copy on the German flea bay right now, but as its already here...
The Bad Dog module seems to crash SheepShaver often,
but the dog reminds me of one of my neighbours´s. Laughing out loud

Thank you. The problem was in the Control Panel folder remains. I thought it was enough just to delete root folder of AD4.0. Things are not as they are in OS X Smile

... uninstall it from OS 9.2? My iMac G3 cannot boot with extensions after I installed AD4

Hold the Shift key on your keyboard down as you turn on the Mac to boot it up. You should see the Mac OS splash logo come up with "Extensions Turned Off" written below the boot logo. Release the Shift key once you see that notice.

After it boots up with Extensions turned off, you can drag the problem items out of their respective folders in the System Folder to some safe location outside of the System folder (or to the Trash) and then re-boot the Mac normally.

After Dark uses a Control Panel, which naturally will be located inside of the Control Panels folder. I'm not sure if it uses Extensions as well, but these will be inside of the Extensions folder, if at all.

You can also try starting up with the Space bar held down as you boot your Mac. This invokes the "Extensions Manager" and you may be able to use it's UI to disable problem Extensions & CP's. But if the After Dark Control Panel loads before the Extensions Manager when booting, you won't get to it's screen. So holding the Shift key down to start up and moving problem files out manually may be the better option here.

Guys, how to uninstall it from OS 9.2? My iMac G3 cannot boot with extensions after I installed AD4 without attention to OS9 compatibility.

I hope the 3rd file from the top is working for you (and for all users as well) This is part of my contribution to the
List of downloads on external hosts which still need to be moved to internal server thread.

Worked with my StuffIt 14, I've re-created the file (with "Use previous version" menu item - no idea what version will be imagined) and it's on the way to the internal server now.

I tried to using StuffIt Expander 5.5, but it immediately closed without an extracted file.

Extract the .sit.1 file with StuffIt Expander to create the .sit file.

How on earth do I extract the CD image from the .sit.1, .sit.2, and .sit.3 files?

Dumb question but it's been so long since I've used 7.5 and there's no directions included. How do I import the screens savers into the AD control panel?

[EDIT] Never mind. It's all coming back to me. Smile

Looks like the two archives had the exact same name, so I could easily see one accidentally replacing another. I uploaded a new archive under a different name; try it now.

Downloading the 17.56 MB part of After Dark 4.0 gives the same file as downloading the 271.50 KB part.

This is no longer just the 4.0 pack for the OS 9 version of After Dark.

Follow the directions for OS 9, but use this control panel instead, and you have After Dark 4.03 complete for Mac OS 7-8. Enjoy. Smile
