2nd DL is the version 1.5.2 in a ".smi" image.

Ableton Live is a loop-based software music sequencer and DAW. In contrast to many other software sequencers, Live is designed to be an instrument for live performances as well as a tool for composing, recording, arranging, mixing and mastering. It is also used for beatmixing of tracks by DJs, as it offers a suite of controls for beatmatching, crossfading, and other effects used by turntablists, and was one of the first music applications to automatically beat match songs.

Attention: Read file "Ableton live1.01 how to.txt" before first run.

its of note to mention that untill version 4.X ableton does not support VST instruments or midi tracks but rather works only with recorded audio + vst effects. this limits the way you can work with the program if you are a computer based musician, and want to use an early version of live to record with, you would need to sync it via MTC (midi time code) to another pc/mac running some other type of software, or, using the single mac, use a REWIRE capable application that ableton is able to become a master to.. (such as reason 1,2, or 2.5).. or.. you could produce your loops before hand in another application altogether before you even open LIVE.. or use sample cds with pre-existing samples + loops to manipulate in live..
